Product Testing & Comparison
Our reviewer used a specific set of guidelines to determine the best of the best for our list:
- Ease of use
Primarily we looked for durable blenders. After all, it’s a motorised blade inside plastic or glass housing (more often than not) – you don’t want a catastrophe on your hands. Next was versatility. While bullet blenders are cool, they’re extremely limited, and we want to be able to do more than make smoothies with this.
Finally, we looked for ease of use. This is vital, as the whole point of a blender is to cut your workload. If it took a lot of work to use or clean, it didn’t make the list. Now, enough about what we want – let’s see what’s best for you, shall we?

The Best Blenders Reviewed In 2022
- Dimensions: 44 x 24 x 30 cm
- Power/Wattage: 750 watts
- Material: Stainless steel and food-grade plastic
The extreme cost of this blender is entirely justified – though still quite a lot.
Now, a disclaimer needs to be made here. This is an incredible food processor and blender that has zero downsides, with one large exception – its cost. This costs £1,809.50 at the time of publication.
Now, I already know what you’re saying. “That’s about £1,800 too expensive!” You’re right, it’s incredibly spendy. However – that cost has a bonus. This is the professional food processor. I’ve worked everything from pizza to French fine dining, and every single kitchen had at least two of these.
They’ll last you forever, will never break down, and their blades remain sharp for years. Add in its incredibly easy to clean design, watertight housing, 2-litre capacity, and just sheer durability, this thing is a beast. If you need a professional-grade blender or food processer, there is really no other choice than RoboCoupe, and our reviewer echoed that sentiment.

- Material: Plastic
Powerful, efficient, and quiet, this is truly the best of the best.
This is the best smoothie blender UK for those that are looking for blenders that blend smoothies and other ingredients easily to fit in with their busy lifestyles. With a one-touch blending system, this is one of the appliances that are simple but effective.
This blender comes with two 400ml and three 300ml BPA free bottles that are ideal for families that love to make smoothies with any ingredients on the go. The blender, each bottle and lid are also completely dishwasher safe, making it truly easy to use and also has easy cleaning feature. The motor is 300w but despite its relatively low volume motor with no noise, when it comes to ice crushing, it is an excellent power tool.
Our reviewer love this thing. It’s simple, super simple to use, and extremely reliable. She (and her partner) particularly liked how quietly it operates. That meant no more waking up the husband or kids with early morning smoothies, which came out perfectly, by the way… She did, however, note that the housing can crack if mistreated – so be careful!

Best Smoothie Blender
- Dimensions: 17 x 17 x 30 cm
- Power/Wattage: 1100 watts
- Material: Plastic
Compact and easy to use, this is a great little smoothie blender.
Our reviewer loved this little guy. The Foodi Power NutriBlender from Ninja is absolutely fantastic.
It comes with several auto-IQ programs to automatically identify the needed power to blend whatever is inside. And as it comes from a reputable brand, you know that it’ll be well-made and thoroughly tested for quality.
It’s compact, easy to use, and modernly designed – all things that our reviewer loved. She did, however, note that it’s both loud and incapable of handling thicker substances like nut butter. Nonetheless, it’s a great blender and won’t break the bank like #2. And at the end of the day, it’s a blender – it won’t be silent.
- Nutribowl and cup multifunction
- 4 auto-iq programs (blend, crush, mix, powermix)
- Easy to use
- Motor can’t handle thicker substances.
Best Multi-Serve Blender
- Dimensions: 17 x 17 x 45 cm
- Power/Wattage: 1,200 watts
- Material: Stainless steel and plastic
This is another fantastic and modern blender that, while a bit spendy, is nowhere near the cost of #2 while getting quite good results.
Hauswirt built a solid machine. It comes with AI presets and 15 speed settings, ensuring you’re always using the most effective setting for the job. It’s got a decent capacity of just under 1.5 litres, making it suited to serving families, and it’s made from BPA-free, reliably safe materials.
Our reviewer noted that it’s a bit hard to disassemble at first, but also mentioned that after a few goes, this eases. The blade is a bit hard to figure out how to remove at first, but once it’s known, you’ll have no issues. Overall, this is a super-powerful, extremely efficient, and highly adaptable blender that will help you serve countless tasty meals and drinks for years to come.
- Hard to disassemble at first, though this fades with use.
Best Versatile Blender
- Dimensions: 40.9 x 32.5 x 25.4 cm
- Power/Wattage: 800 watt
- Material: Plastic and stainless steel
A compact design fully-loaded with utilizable features, this Kenwood blender boasts two speeds that permit control for the users.
This will seamlessly hold steady due to its non-slip base, keeping it in place even during the heavier slicing and grating.
People love that blades are made of quality steel, allowing harder tasks such as pureeing and chopping without the effort of up to 2.1 litres of bowl capacity. Overall, one can consider this Kenwood masterpiece a true household must-have.
Our reviewer loved this thing as a much more affordable RoboCoupe alternative for home cooks. While it’s not nearly as durable, it’s still a fantastically solid product. It’s simple to use, can blend just about everything, and is quite safe to use. Overall, it’s great, despite its somewhat complex and fiddly disassembly mechanism.

Best Multifunction Blender
- Dimensions: 13 x 12 x 17 cm
- Power/Wattage: 220 watt
- Material: Alloy steel, stainless steel
The title gives it all away on this one, this machine is an ideal option for those that love making a smoothie drink.
It will give you a run for your money. Coming with a wealth of accessories, this unit offers a 1.5-litre blender, a 1-litre smoothie maker jar and two 500ml storage mugs.
If you are looking to use this quiet blender for something else, make use of the grinding or juicing attachments to create delicious dishes, smooth drinks and sauces. The VonShef smoothie maker has two speeds and a pulse and blitz function and the dual blade is powered by a 220-watt motor.
The only drawback of this blender is that its motor isn’t powerful enough to blend frozen fruit or ice cream. Though our review noted that the quiet operation, large capacity, and numerous cups/jars make this great for making smoothies with fresh ingredients. All in all, for only £42.99 at the time of publication, this is a great deal.
- Numerous cups/jars
- Fast and efficient
- Multi-function (blender, grinder, food processor)
- Somewhat weak motor
Best High-Power Blender
- Dimensions: 39.6 x 31.6 x 20.2 cm
- Power/Wattage: 1000 watts
- Material: Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene
One of the most powerful units in this list of blender reviews.
It is powered by a strong 1000 watts (1.3 horsepower) motor for high performance. This compact but powerful fruit and veg blender comes with three BPA-free cups and is easy to clean in the dishwasher for a fuss-free experience.
Not only this, this blender has won multiple expert awards for smart design. It is an ideal kitchen appliance for you if you like to make smoothies and we cannot help but recommend it. You will certainly get value for the money you spend if you go for the Salter Super Charged Nutrient Extractor Blender.
Our reviewer quite liked this, despite its low ranking. It’s small and compact, making it great for those who travel or have limited space. Add in the included jars/cups, and making a smoothie on the go has never been easier! Our reviewer did note that its size limits its applications, as does the material with which it’s designed. If you wanted a food processor, this isn’t the choice, as it won’t handle hot material well.
- Easy to use
- Extra jars/cups included
- Recipe book
- Small capacity
- Limited applications
Blenders Buying Guide
Why You Need One
Blenders are great kitchen items that give you the opportunity to do a lot more with your recipes. They are truly multipurpose items that are likely to get a lot of use on any kitchen countertop. A quality blender can blend kale, soups, grind coffee, nuts and seeds, crush ice and create delicious smoothies, all at the touch of a button. They are especially great if you are looking to improve your healthy eating habits as they make healthy juice drinks with pulp and dinners in a matter of minutes.
What Are The Types Of Blenders?
Blenders come in all shapes and sizes, but they mainly fit into three different categories. Take a look at the options below and keep in mind what type of blender you are looking for.
These types of blenders do not stand out, they are smaller in size and often offer a lower, more affordable price point than more expensive larger blenders. The trade-off here is that they often lack the high power wattage motor needed to do things like crush ice or grind nuts and other ingredients.
Handheld smoothie makers are great for the casual blender user that wants to make the occasional recipe, smoothie or blend a hot soup from time to time. They often consist of a few different attachments, including a smaller capacity beaker to blend things in.
These are often more expensive, heavy duty and have a bigger capacity than most other types of blenders. Most of the time they come with a variety of attachments, allowing them to chop and grate things in addition to blending things. Look for food processors with blitzing and pulse settings as they will allow you to have the most control over what you are blending.
This is perhaps the most common type of blender and is a great multi-purpose option. The higher-powered motor on most of these models means that smoothies, soups and cocktails are easily made in these machines with jugs.
What Are The Features To Look Out For?
Pay close attention to the motor speed as this will give you a better idea of what sort of functions it can be used for. Higher motor speeds can tackle the harder foods like nuts, harder fruit, ice and coffee beans.
All the machines will likely offer the same basic blades, but some can offer a 5-arm blade as well as additional extra blades. If you want to grind or grate things, this will require a separate blade. Grating and slicing attachments are most common on food processors.
Again, this is down to need. If you are just looking for a straightforward blender with no added extras, you might want to avoid blenders that come with many additional cups and attachments as this may just make unnecessary clutter in your house. However, if you are looking for a blender that comes with to-go cups or a range of attachments and extras, you can find something to suit your budget with ease.
At the end of the day, all blenders will need to be cleaned to keep looking new and neat. So look for a blender that has dishwasher safe attachment kit and lid, as this will make your life much easier. If there are non-dishwasher safe parts, our advice is to consider how easy or hard these will be to wash by hand as if it is hard to clean it will probably get used less and you want to get as much use out of your blender as possible.
